September 16, 2021: Consulate General of Switzerland in Mumbai in partnership with leading sustainability hub, BuzzOnEarth, has announced the launch of an exclusive series – “Switzerland for Sustainability” featuring some of the leading Swiss Companies in India and their sustainability endeavours starting September till December 2021. The hub has specially curated their Cloud Chats under the Swiss It! campaign of the official Swiss network in India to bring the best of sustainability Switzerland has to offer for India Inc. Participating companies include industry leaders from ABB, Holcim, Nestle, Swiss Re as well as the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation (SDC).
The Swiss expertise around water governance, water use efficiency, treatment of wastewater, energy efficiency through renewables, food security can benefit Indian companies to drive sustainability across their value chain. The series will help Indian industries draw insights from Swiss expertise in areas such as circular economy, resource efficiency expertise, building sustainable urban space, processing food systems, restoring ecology, and promoting social progress amongst communities.
Switzerland is known for its global leadership in sustainability and has accelerated its efforts to fulfil targets as per the 2030 Agenda. As prime partners in Asia, India and Switzerland have numerous bilateral treaties across key sectors. Consul General Othmar Hardegger discusses the long-standing partnership between the two countries and their commitment towards sustainable development. “Switzerland is deeply committed to contributing actively towards India’s sustainability with a focus on climate compatible development, climate change adaptation, and mitigation. The more than 300 Swiss companies currently operating in India play a central role in the partnership between the two countries and contribute with their commitment to the fulfilment of the UN 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development.”
Through their Cloud Chats with BuzzOnEarth under the Swiss It! campaign the Consulate General is providing a platform for Indian businesses to meaningfully engage with Swiss businesses and their leaders across key sectors. “The partnership with a sustainability-focused hub BuzzOnEarth helps us reach the target audience.
