Can’t deny the fact that contrary to its name, The Boring Company is one of the most interesting companies on the planet earth, maybe mars too. This time Elon Musk, CEO of The Boring Company, Tesla, and SpaceX, plans to stack a few more bricks for the house of sustainability.

Elon Musk aims to use the dirt excavated from digging hyperloop tunnels, to create bricks for low-cost housing. Being a beloved twitter celebrity, he tweeted on 7th May that “The Boring Company will be using dirt from tunnel digging to create bricks for low-cost housing” in reply to one of the tweets mocking Musk of engaging with “the important ideas” when he tweeted about starting a candy company.


To put the speculating rumours that he tweeted that in good humour to rest, The Boring Company spokesperson told Bloomberg that the excavated muck from digging tunnels would be used to create an insane amount of bricks.

It’s no secret that the Elon Musk is digging tunnels for his ambitious Hyperloop project. In fact, a few hours ago today, he tweeted that “First Boring Company tunnel under LA almost done! Pending final…”.

The approach is eco-friendly and fully sustainable. This has also been cleared by Musk himself in quite a funny fashion.


On 26th March, Musk revealed that he plans to create “Lifesize lego-like interlocking bricks made from tunneling rock that you can use to create sculptures and buildings.” Further, he also mentioned that the bricks would be “interlocking with a precise surface finish, so two people could build the outer walls of a small house in a day or so”.

Elon Musk’s intentions seem noble and he has a proven history of turning his tweets into reality. From selling hats and flamethrowers(later renamed as ‘Not A Flamethrower’) to driving a car in space, the tech boss delivers to his promises.
