Summertime is music festival time! Held every year in Iceland, Secret Solstice is a unique music festival. It’s often called the greenest music festival on earth. The event takes place around the time of the year when the sun doesn’t set in 96 hours in Iceland which saves the lighting cost of the festival. Underground concerts are also held at Secret Solstice for those who love to party at night.

The most amazing fact about Secret Solstice which sets it apart from other music festivals around the globe is that the energy to power the event is generated from volcanos. Iceland has underground volcanos from which electricity is generated to power guitars, amps, keyboards and every little thing that requires electricity to run. It is the only event that runs on volcanic energy. Harnessing Geothermal energy is a great way to reduce carbon emissions and pollution.

The event is filled with popular acts all around the world. Rock, pop, R&B, electro, hip-hop, soul, EDM…Secret Solstice got them all covered. Last year in 2016, Foo Fighters, a rock music fan delight, headlined the festival. This year the festival is lined up with some of the most amazing artists of the world.  This time the event will be held on 21-24 June. The thrash metal band, Slayer is headlining the festival this year.  Great news for all the metalheads out there!
