Recently HP announced its commitment to boost its sustainability practices at HP Reinvent, the company’s largest global partner event. HP unveiled its vision to engage in a forest positive future, support carbon neutrality and bring the circular economy into its model and deliver the company’s most environmentally sustainable product portfolio.

HP’s commitment to sustainability guides how we do business and drives the way our printers are designed, made and used,” explains Enrique Lores, President of HP Inc.’s Imaging & Printing business. “Today at HP Reinvent, we took one step further by pledging to lead the industry in making every page you print sustainable.”
Forest Positive Future
HP pledges to make its entire portfolio forest positive by extending beyond its forest positive consumer printers. The company is also on the track for its 2020 paper-based product packaging zero deforestation goal. In addition, 100% of HP-branded paper sold in North America is certified by the Forest Stewardship Council®, ensuring transparency and responsible forest management.
HP’s EcoSmart LaserJet printer and EcoSmart black toner are energy efficient product that supports carbon neutral printing. They have a lower melting temperature which reduces the energy requirement of printers. HP is also offering partnerships with customers through HP’s Managed Print Services (MSPs) offerings.
HP has reinvented its printer suite to include closed-loop recycled plastics, with HP ENVY and Tango printers consisting of 30% closed-loop recycled plastics. As of today, the company has sourced more than 550,000 pounds of ocean-bound plastic for use in our products – the equivalent of more than 12 million plastic bottles that might otherwise have washed into the ocean and waterways.
