IPL: Our Favourite RCB Dons Green for Go Green Match

This time of the season India is all swept up in cricket fever. Apart from keeping the good game on, one of the most promising teams of IPL, Royal Challengers Bangalore ( RCB  ) is also a part of the green initiative. For their match against Rajasthan Royals on 15th April, RCB donned the green jerseys.

This is not the first time, RCB went green. The franchise has been part of the green initiative since 2012, spreading the message of environmental sustainability and conservation and creating awareness about global warming.

RCB has been promoting the go green agenda by planting trees and urging fans to use public transport. This year, RCB plans to gift saplings to their fans who come to watch their match in the stadium. The franchise has taken the initiative to use apparels made out of recycled polyester from used Pet bottles. The idea came when last year plastic bottles were thrown around during IPL. To make a single RCB jersey, 15 plastic bottles are used up.

This is a welcome and much-appreciated initiative by RCB team and we wish other teams will also follow the suit. RCB has a killer fan base and promoting sustainability on a huge platform like IPL will hopefully have a bigger impact.

RCB lost to RR this time, but they have already won our green hearts.
